Attendance

Participation: Discussion among students in the class is at the heart of this course. You are expected to participate actively in these debates (not only attendance, also the quality of your contribution). Attendance in every class of the term is mandatory, as final and mid-term exams include questions from each class. The class will be much more interesting and enjoyable if you do the reading prior to class and participate in class discussion (you'll also get a better grade). If you are habitually late, the participation portion of your course grade will be marked down substantially.

This course combines lectures, reading, and discussion to expose students to the current leading debates in urban regeneration. Also, students are expected to participate in role-play performance structured to display the differentiating approaches in regeneration. Successful participation in the course requires weekly readings, and submitting at least three short written responses to prepared questions.
